Luxury Wildlife Stay for Mumbai Travelers

STEP OUT OF THE CITY. STEP INTO THE FOREST.

Life in Mumbai moves fast. Weekdays blend into weekends and even short breaks feel rushed. Pench offers something different. At Pench Tree Lodge, you do not just check into a resort. You slow down. Surrounded by forest, with no unnecessary noise, this is the kind of place where time stretches a little. Located near Pench National Park, the lodge gives you direct access to one of India’s most rewarding wildlife landscapes without the crowds you usually find elsewhere.

HOW TO REACH PENCH TREE LODGE FROM MUMBAI

Nagpur is your gateway to Pench. From Mumbai, you can reach Nagpur by air, rail, or road — and the lodge team can arrange onward transfers from there.

Pench Route Map
By Air

Fly from Mumbai (BOM) to Nagpur (NAG). The flight takes approximately 1.5 hours, with multiple daily departures on IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet. From Nagpur airport, the lodge is roughly 130 km away — a 3–4 hour drive through Seoni. The lodge team can arrange a pickup directly from the airport.

By Rail

Several overnight trains connect Mumbai (CST/LTT) to Nagpur, including the Sevagram Express, Vidarbha Express, and Mumbai–Howrah Mail (12–14 hours). AC 2-tier and 3-tier coaches are comfortable and affordable. You arrive in Nagpur in the morning, ready for the onward drive. Ideal for families and those who prefer a relaxed, scenic journey.

By Road

The drive from Mumbai to Pench is approximately 900–950 km via NH44 (Mumbai → Pune → Nagpur → Seoni), taking 10–12 hours on well-maintained highways. Best started early in the morning. Both self-drive and hired cabs work well. Stock up on fuel and cash at Seoni — the last major town before the lodge.

By Bus / Public Transport

Overnight sleeper buses (MSRTC, Orange Travels, Patel Travels) run from Mumbai to Nagpur in 12–14 hours. From Nagpur bus stand, hire a local cab toward Seoni and Pench. Direct buses to Pench are not available — Nagpur is the last major hub. The most budget-friendly option, though less comfortable than train or flight for this distance.

Pro Tip: The lodge team can arrange reliable cab transfers from Nagpur airport or railway station. Best combo fly in, take an overnight train back. Saves time on arrival and makes for a relaxed return journey.

FAQs for Mumbai travelers

Yes. A 3-night stay (Friday to Monday) is the most popular choice for Mumbai travelers and gives you enough time to enjoy 4–5 safari drives, unwind at the lodge, and still be back by Monday evening. Even a 2-night trip works well if your schedule is tight, covering 2–3 safaris comfortably.

Safaris are not included in the room tariff but the lodge actively helps you arrange them by coordinating entry permits, jeep allocation, and naturalist guides. Book well in advance, especially during peak season (October to March), as slots fill up fast. Both morning and evening safari slots are available inside Pench Tiger Reserve.

Yes. Expect well-appointed cottages or tents with comfortable beds, hot water, electricity, Wi-Fi (where available), and wholesome home-style meals. The experience is intentionally rustic and peaceful rather than resort-style perfect for those who want to be close to nature without roughing it.
